The Red Caboose Motel:

Housekeeper / Laundry

FT / PT 8:30AM-4PM

We do housekeeping differently. Actually, we do lodging differently. Our guests sleep in actual railroad cabooses and we're looking for hardworking women and men to clean our unique accommodations.

We need a few good housekeepers to work full-time, 35-40 hours per week. You'll use a modified golf cart to drive our beautiful 9 acre property to your assigned rooms and public spaces.

If you enjoy cleaning and love being outdoors this is the perfect job for you. Our guests love our property and you will too. We're miles from ordinary!

We will "train" (sorry, couldn't resist) candidates who demonstrate integrity, a good work ethic and a desire to learn.

If you're only looking for part-time or are unable to work our standard 8:30-4 p.m. shift go ahead and apply anyway. We may be able to work with your availability.
And the pay? $14+/ hour. 

Front Desk

FT / PT 7AM-2PM & 2PM-10PM

Unlike many Front Desk positions that require you to be anchored to the desk, we allow and encourage you to leave the desk to greet guests, give directions, stock and straighten the gift shop, clean and more. This is the PERFECT position for someone who likes to stay busy.

This individual will be responsible for:

* Retail gift shop sales & inventory
* Phone reservations
* General administrative duties

Assistant Restaurant Manager


Casey Jones' Restaurant - a 175 seat restaurant located in the heart of the Strasburg Countryside - is looking for a seasoned industry veteran to assist the Restaurant Manager with running the front of house. Casey's is 5 minutes from Sight & Sound and 10 minutes from Rockvale Outlets. Our business has been experiencing significant growth and we need you to help us continue delivering a high-quality menu and train our staff to provide excellent customer service.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need management skills and experience in both front and back of the house. Those with integrity and a strong moral compass are most likely to succeed in this position. We also love "clean freaks" because no one wants to eat in a dirty restaurant.

We want you to know how to oversee the dining room, check-in with customers and balance seating capacity. Back of the house management experience is helpful, as you’ll work side-by-side with the Executive Chef to execute daily meal service, medium and large groups and more. We’ll expect you to lead by example and uplift our staff during busy moments in our fast-paced environment. Ultimately, you will ensure our restaurant runs smoothly and customers have pleasant dining experiences.

The Assistant Front of House (FOH) Restaurant Manager is a hands-on position meaning that you will be acting as the FOH manager in the absence of the FOH Manager and you will take serving shifts when the FOH manager is present. We anticipate that you'll be serving 65% of the time and managing the other 35%.

There is a base salary (inquire within). You will also keep all tips from your shifts as a server. The position includes 1-week of paid vacation and a 25% employee discount on all products and services offered at the Red Caboose Motel & Casey Jones' Restaurant.

This position is full-time, however, we would consider part-time for the right person. The restaurant is open 7-days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you have special scheduling needs to be able to attend church, higher education, etc. we can discuss that at your interview.


Coordinate daily Front of the House restaurant operations

Deliver superior service and maximize customer satisfaction

Respond efficiently and accurately to customer complaints

Organize and supervise shifts

Appraise staff performance and provide feedback to improve productivity

Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations

Manage restaurant’s good image (including enforcement of employee uniform policy) and suggest ways to improve it

Control operational costs and identify measures to cut waste

Promote the brand in the local community through word-of-mouth and restaurant events

Recommend ways to reach a broader audience (e.g. discounts and social media ads)

Train new and current employees on proper customer service practices

Implement policies and protocols that will maintain future restaurant operations


Proven work experience as a Restaurant Manager, Restaurant General Manager, Hospitality Manager or similar role (servers with extensive restaurant experience are encouraged to apply even if you have not been in an official management position)

Proven customer service experience as a manager

Extensive food and beverage knowledge, with ability to remember and recall ingredients and dishes to inform customers and wait staff

Strong leadership, motivational and people skills

ServSafe Manager certification is a plus

RAMP certification is required (will be company paid if you are not currently certified)
